This reminds me that Jack needs a temp filesystem which should get
mounted as a tmpfs.  The name of the file can be found from jackd:

xtc:~% jackd -V
jackd version 0.100.0 tmpdir /tmp protocol 15

My /tmp is defined like this in /etc/fstab:
   none   /tmp   tmpfs  defaults   0 0
