Howdy and thanks for the feedback.  Here's what I get from Ardour in the 
terminal window:

Ardour crashes as soon as I hit "create session" though it does create a wack 
of XML files before it goes off into the weeds.  Qjackctl doesn't crash and I 
can restart Jackd after that no problem.  I do not know if it is related but 
I see this when I restart the client via the command line with the session 
name:

ardour: [WARNING]: Session: XML state has no click section

Once I am actually in (sometimes I have to re-connect to Jack a few times, I 
can use Ardour (it's a little inconsistent sometimes with default settings 
but mostly reasonable).

Thoughts?
