[ardour-users] Performance under OS-X

I'd like some opinion on the performance of Ardour on, say, a Mac 
single-processor G5 running Tiger at around 2GHz.  How does it compare
to an Intel box running a nicely-tuned Linux at around 3GHz? I'm
curious about DSP capabilities, and any issues specific to running
Ardour under OS-X.

Thanks. I'm new to this list. I haven't actually bought a Mac yet, but
I may (after 20 years of just saying no!).
