[ardour-users] [ardour-dev] workarounds for losing split function

this is imho the  biggest bug in Ardour, no question. i'm surprised that 
nobody seems to reference it other than me !

 two things; will gtk2 finally fix this ? 

and what work-arounds do Ardourists use to consistantly get split back ? full 
details please.
