On the heels of my last, apparently difficult question on netowrking
ontgether a linux box and a mac mini to use VSTs on the mini(Shameless
plug for help;) here is another doozer....

So I am a bit curious now, has anyone tried using a tablet PC via a
Remote X Session to say control the mixer window in Ardour? Is this
even possible?

Just wondering as a Mackie control surface for example will run about
1000 USD vs a table PC which if I look for a good deal I can get about
the same price. The question is how useable would it be? On that note
would it be possible to view the mixing window on both the tablet PC via
a remote X session and on a local LCD as well?

Just curious, would be fun to get a wireless tablet PC and be able to
place it about anywhere to control that I think, wishful thinking
probably in more ways than one, but a cool idea i believe.

Also would there be to much lag in the response for usefulness? Any
ideas on how much there would be over a 100BaseT, 1000BaseT, or 802.11g
connection? I wouldnt think there would be to much, but I cant be sure,
assume dedicated connection for each.
