hi,

When I try to connect something to the ardour-seq-midi-port in
qjackctl the connection just flashes up and disappears immediately.
If I try to do the same thing on the console it shows me..

$ aconnect 129:0 96:0
Connection failed (Resource temporarily unavailable)
$ aconnect 96:0 129:0
Connection failed (Resource temporarily unavailable)

this just happens when the ardour midi-port is involved. there is no
problem connecting ams and the behringer bcr or any other device.

this are my ports..
$ aconnect -o
client 64: 'TerraTec EWS88MT MIDI' [type=kernel]
    0 'TerraTec EWS88MT MIDI'
client 88: 'MPU-401 UART MIDI' [type=kernel]
    0 'MPU-401 UART MIDI'
client 96: 'BCR2000' [type=kernel]
    0 'BCR2000 MIDI 1  '
client 129: 'ardour' [type=user]
    0 'seq             '

my ardour.rc contains
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<Ardour>
  <MIDI-port tag="hw:0" device="/dev/snd/midiC0D0" type="alsa/raw"
mode="duplex"/>
  <MIDI-port tag="hw:1" device="/dev/snd/midiC3D0" type="alsa/raw"
mode="duplex"/>
  <MIDI-port tag="hw:3" device="/dev/snd/midiC4D0" type="alsa/raw"
mode="duplex"/>
  <MIDI-port tag="seq" device="ardour" type="alsa/sequencer"
mode="duplex"/>
  <Config>

$ ls -l /dev/snd/midi*
crw-rw----  1 root audio 116,   8 29. Mai 2005  /dev/snd/midiC0D0
crw-rw----  1 root audio 116, 104 29. Mai 2005  /dev/snd/midiC3D0
crw-rw----  1 root audio 116, 136 29. Mai 11:51 /dev/snd/midiC4D0

I'm on gentoo with ardour beta29 alsa 1.0.9 and jack 0.99

thx for any help
