I'm a Pro Tools user. It's terrible. Just as soon as it gets stable
some M$ update comes along that kills it. Add or delete a plugin, it
kills it. Edit too much MIDI data, I killed it. Switching an audio
drive on after starting PT. It kills it.

I'm what Ron calls a 'Pro Fool'. ;-)

If there was really timely support for new, higher-end hardware under
Linux then I'd be ready to jump. Unfortunately the hardware choices
are very limited. Hooray for what we got from RME when RME was
supporting us. My HDSP 9652 is finally a pretty stable solution.
