    Oops, sorry.  Try echo $LADSPA_PATH first and see if it shows up. 
Mine is set in ladspa.sh in  /etc/profile.d.  It looks like this:

LADSPA_PATH=/usr/lib/ladspa; export LADSPA_PATH


    There is also a ladspa.chs for those using the cshell:

setenv LADSPA_PATH /usr/lib/ladspa
