[ardour-users] RAID devices

my motherboard has a raid controller, so im thinking of buying a second
HD and getting a RAID setup going. is it painless? has anyone any
advice? does size of the HD matter? in my googling i often find
reference to RAID setups of x number of 19gb HDs - Im not sure if this
is just old technology, but would 2 x 80gb be okay for the task?

i dont really need the extra performance, but im board for the next few
weeks and like to get things working.
