If the clipping isn't audible, she will adjust the pre-amp gain slightly
and let me finish my take.  Then she'll play it back for me and ask if I
want to keep it.  She usually sets it right to begin with though. 

My musician friends are mostly terrified of recording on a
computer--especially on linux, so I can point to her and say, "What are
you so afraid of?  There's an 8-year-old little girl doing it!"
