The noise from a PC, especially very high pitched whine from hard drives, 
bothers me a lot.  So finally yesterday I bought some extension cables 
(video, keyboard, mouse, USB) and stuck my CPU into a cabinet near the desk.  
Just that alone really makes a nice difference, and I could do a lot more as 
far as making the cabinet doors tighter.
