I prefer not to run automount daemons when doing audio work, because it 
can hurt performance. IMHO the proper fix is to allow users to mount the 
cdrom. Example fstab entry :
/dev/cdrom      /mnt/cdrom      iso9660        noauto,ro,noexec,user 0 0
Note the user option.
