Damn, I just noticed on the Ardour website that in between when I 
downloaded the 0.9beta16 source tarball Saturday morning and got it 
installed yesterday, a new 0.9beta16.1 tarball became available that 
specifically supports basic MMC control from JLCooper control surfaces.
