[ardour-users] How to record 24-bit audio files?

According to my understanding, which isn't much....

32 bit files are actually 24 bit files in a 32 bit wrapper.  I'm not 
exactly sure what that means, but I remember reading that somewhere 
after having the same question you did.  Hopefully someone can expound 
on why exactly Ardour does that.
