Well 'better' is a matter of perspective. One is open source and one is closed source. The closed source driver will mean you get no support form the kernel folks as they can't troubleshoot effectively with it present. Idealogically there are also problems with the closed source for many folks. It DOES have more features at this point though. In the future hopefully Nouveau will be perfectly usable for our purposes though, which would be ideal as it is an open source implementation of the driver with focus on more advanced features like 3D acceleration.<br>
