this is too broad.

all that has to be done is to *NOT* support Carbon plugin GUIs. nothing more.

i do have OS X Snow Leopard in a 4-core, 4GB virtualbox, but i don't
use it to build, currently.

so yeah, now that i see what you mean, i feel your pain. remember that
i have to sometimes compile on a G4! the rest of time i'm on a first
generation mac mini. nearly half the speed of yours :(
