someone needs to pick it up and run with it.  tranzport support has
never been good at all the required levels
(code/installability/function/documentation). if the kernel driver
works then it needs to properly documented and then an evaluation done
on the a3 code to support it (surface support code design changed a
little bit from a2 to a3). but basically, it really needs someone who
will take control of it from top to bottom.
