hmm. i don't agree. when channels are silenced, then either you did it
intentionally and it's ok, or your error becomes really obvious and you
can react properly. this new solution just hides the problem. and it
accomplishes nothing you couldn't do before: if you really want that
mono channel to go to both outputs, you can simply use the first panner
and move it to the center.
i still maintain that for all other cases, duplicating a channel (which
one? why?) is wrong. second-guessing the user is always wrong imho.
