Sourceforge and similar sites can do anonymous CVS because they mirror 
the developers repository; the anonymous CVS is usually 24 hours or so 
behind the main repository, so grabbing the ardour CVS snapshot on a 
daily basis probably gets you a more up-to-date snapshot anyway (you 
could theoretically create a cron job and fetch the ardour snapshot 
using wget every morning).
