[ardour-dev] Error in installation of CVS tarball

The compile goes cleanly with the command
   scons KSI=0 VST=0 PREFIX=/usr

When I su and do "scons install" I get the following:

xgettext: unrecognized option `--from-code=UTF-8'
Try `xgettext --help' for more information.
scons: *** [libs/ardour/libardour.pot] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.

This worked a couple of days ago...
