You have to put the templates into the install directory.  Typically /usr/local/share/ardour/templates/  You can also put them in ~/.ardour/templates/

make/templates happy here. Only problem is I run ardev from a build 
directory and templates don't show up in the New session dialog. Is 
there a way around this or would I have to put templates into an 
install dir?
