so when I do "./configure --with-wine=/usr/src/wine-20040914" but without
passing in the .../libs/ and .../include/ wine subdirs then ./configure runs.
Now I have errors running 'make':

"pthread.c:44:21: library.h: No such file or directory"

followed by a bunch more errors "pthread.c..." and finally "make[1]: ***
[pthread.o] Error 1" and then "make: *** [fst] Error 2"

... this is why I prefer to install stuff from rpm binaries!!

[fwiw I DID copy mkinstalldirs into the fst-1.6 source dir]

So what is causing my problems with make for fst-1.6?

Alternately, can I compile Ardour beta19 without fst?
