Perhaps the autoconnect could be controlled by regexes?  User defined ones
even?  From a file referenced by the session rather than embedded within it?

Might be nice to add default plug-in values to such a file too - hence making
favourite eq/fx setups re-useable (and independent of the existing [and most
useful] templates).
