JFYI

I had problems installing softwerk with debian unstable with the following 
file softwerk-2.0.1/libs/pbd/pbd/basename.h

Changing this 

extern char *basename (const char *);

to

extern char *basename (const char);

Fixed it for me.  Not sure if that is 100% correct?
